WHAT IS SMARTER INTERNET USE'S MISSION?
Let's face it, the internet wasn't really a big thing 20 years ago and things change at the speed of light. It's no wonder people are struggling with figuring out how to deal with conflict and consequences from their online habits. No one was ever taught! There was almost no time to be taught.
After many years, day in and day out, of protecting online speech initiatives while simultaneously seeing personal and financial disasters created by so many over the silliest of things it became clear to the Founder of Smarter Internet Use (an Arizona internet and business law attorney) that there is a serious need for education in this area.
Spending an hour of time with an attorney one on one to go over this kind of matter could cost you hundreds of dollars depending on their billable hour rate and, even then, you may not receive the information from an "insiders" perspective that we bring to the table. At the same time, failing to educate yourself can be far more costly, both in the pocket book and though frustration and heartache, in the long run.
Examples of Frustrating and/or Scary Consequences:
- Legal fees for mounting a defense for defamation cost one individual well over $60,000 for content posted to an online review forum that was allegedly truthful;
- Students lose scholarship opportunities due to questionable/offensive image posted online;
- Distracted teen driver using popular social media app filter collides with another driver at over 100 miles per hour;
- A bill recently passed by the US House of Representatives could result in sending teens caught sexting to prison (for 15 years);
- A majority of the states have revenge porn laws and many, including Arizona, consider it a felony with even stiffer punishment if the victim is under the age of 18; and
- The average age of entry for youth into sex trafficking in Arizona is 14.
The solution? Taking charge and investing in yourself with an online educational course for a fraction of the cost that you could spend elsewhere – and delivered to you, at your convenience, through a simple online course.
The Mission Statement: Saving you potentially thousands of dollars in legal fees, unnecessary frustration and heartache one educational course at a time. When it comes to online habits, proactive is better than reactive. ~ Smarter Internet Use™
